Thierry
Dehais
Sculpture on bronze
Born on 23 April 1955 at Vincennes. Spent three years on training
in iron, copper and aluminum work. At the age of 24, directed
a graphic arts company in Val de Marne.
However, Thierry Dehais lives for sculpture: he spends all
his full time on his passion, stimulated by the twofold influence
of Alberto Giacometti and Auguste-Jean Gaudin. Generally,
his creations are small (between 20 and 30 cm in height) and
might appear rudimentary at a first glance. In reality, some
of them (the Woman, the Man) exude a sort of existential reality,
while others (the Song, the Embrace, the Prone Man) clearly
indicate their thematic sculpted purpose.
Thierry Dehais produces his own patinas in order to procure
the exact highlights he demands, drawing on his experience
in the world of the graphic arts.
